To notify the ATO, you need to go through the steps in Task 2 - Connect to the ATO for Single Touch Payroll Reporting. You'll need to:

  • Get the Software ID
    This is unique to you and you can't share it - each client and agent will have their own . If you use the wrong Software ID, the ATO will reject your reports. You'll get this number when you compete the steps to connect to the ATO.

  • Confirm you've notified the ATO
    Do this in step 5 of the connect to ATO process. If you confirm without notifying the ATO, the ATO will reject your reports.

I process payroll for the business

One person from the business must notify the ATO you're using MYOB as your software provider for Single Touch Payroll reporting.

You must complete these steps yourself. You can’t get your agent to complete these steps on your behalf.

I am a tax or BAS agent who processes payroll for the business

One agent must notify the ATO you're using MYOB as your software provider for Single Touch Payroll reporting for the business.

You’ll need to enter your own details here, signed into MYOB as yourself. You cannot complete this on behalf of your client.

Option 1 - Phone the ATO on 1300 85 22 32

This only takes a few minutes. You'll need your own TFN, ABN or RAN (for agents) handy, to verify your identity.

  1. Call the ATO on 1300 85 22 32.
  2. Follow the prompts and provide your unique Software ID and MYOB details when requested. This information is generated in MYOB and displayed in the page for this step.
  3. Once confirmed, click I've notified the ATO.

Option 2 - Create notification in Access Manager

If you have an Access Manager account you can notify the ATO online. You can also create an Access Manager account.

We recommend you use Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox to complete the steps below (download Chrome | download Firefox). Other browsers are not compatible with AUSkey.

  1. Log into Access Manager. You'll need an AUSkey for this.
  2. Click My hosted SBR software services from the left hand menu.
  3. Click Notify the ATO of your hosted service.
  4. Complete all steps with the unique Software ID and MYOB details.
  5. Once confirmed, click I've notified the ATO.

If you need to get your Software ID outside the connect to ATO process, you can get it by:

  1. Go to the Payroll command centre, click Payroll Reporting.
  2. Click Payroll Reporting Centre, then ATO settings.
  3. Enter your details, and click GO.
  4. Note down your Software ID and contact the ATO (see above).
