AccountRight v19.8 and later is compatible with Windows 8 or later, as detailed in the minimum system requirements (Australia | New Zealand).

To check your AccountRight version, go to the Help menu and choose About AccountRight.

If you're using an older AccountRight version and have an active support subscription, you can Download AccountRight from my.MYOB

If you don't have an active support subscription and would like to upgrade, call us and we'll step you through it (Australia 1300 555 123 or New Zealand 0508 328 283).

 

Using v19.8 but having issues in Windows 8 or 10?

If you're getting a "Termination code 1100" error, see Error: "Termination code: 1100".

If you're using AccountRight v19.8 on a computer which was upgraded from Windows 7, the following AccountRight functions can be affected, or stop working:

  • Outlook Sync
  • M-Powered Import Assist (Australia only)
  • third party add-ons which rely on an ODBC connection

This can occur if AccountRight's ODBC driver requires updating. The steps below describe how to do this.

 

1. Install important Windows updates

Windows 10 automatically installs Windows updates, but if you want to check for updates manually:

Click the Start button windows 10 start button > Settings cog icon. Click Update & security and then click Install now if you have any updates available. If you have no updates to display, click Check for updates.

Checking for updates in Windows 8:

  1. Close all programs.
  2. Right-click in the screen's bottom-left corner and choose Control Panel. The Control Panel window appears.
  3. Click System and Security. The System and Security window appears.
  4. Click Check for updates (under the Windows Update category). The Windows Update window appears.
  5. If any Important Updates are listed, select these and install them.
  6. Restart your computer after all updates have been installed.
2. Uninstall your existing ODBC driver
  1. Close all open programs.
  2. Right-click in the screen's bottom-left corner and choose Control Panel. The Control Panel window appears.
  3. Click Uninstall a Program (under the Programs category). The Programs and Features window appears listing your installed programs.
  4. Choose the ODBC driver to be uninstalled.
    • For Australian versions, right-click MYOB ODBC Direct v10 AUS and choose Uninstall/Change.
    • For New Zealand versions, right-click MYOB ODBC Direct v9 NZ and choose Uninstall/Change.

      The InstallShield Wizard window appears.
  5. Select the Remove option then click Next.

  6. Click Yes to the confirmation message. The ODBC driver will be uninstalled.
  7. Click Finish when complete.
3. Install the updated ODBC driver
  1. Right-click the applicable link (based on your country) and choose to save the file to your Desktop.
  2. Right-click the downloaded file and choose Open with then choose File Explorer (or Windows Explorer)
  3. Double-click Setup.exe.
  4. If a confirmation message appears, click Yes. The InstallShield Wizard window appears.

  5. Click Next to begin the installation.
  6. Follow the on-screen prompts to install the ODBC driver.
  7. Click Finish when complete.
