Accountants Enterprise with Practice Manager only

The WIP Journal functionality enables you transfer WIP from jobs and schedules.

The transfer of WIP depends on the job mode set up by the practice. The general rules are:

  • WIP can be transferred from one assignment to another once the entry is posted.

  • Billed or partially billed entries cannot be transferred.

Specific rules depend on the job mode.

A: When transferring to a schedule/stage with multiple employee categories associated with the stage, users are presented with a list of categories to post the WIP to.

WIP cannot be transferred to and from a schedule stage that is complete. In the Job/Schedule drop-down, the completed stage will not be displayed.

In this mode, as WIP is only posted to assignments and not jobs, you will not be presented with a list of jobs under the Job/Schedule name for an assignment which has jobs associated to it. In this case the Schedule/Jobs field will be unavailable (greyed out).
