Advisory reports and charts

Advisory reports give you deep insight into your clients' businesses, so you can give them the right advice based on the data.

You can prepare these reports based on the client's chart of accounts. See the table below for the list of reports and charts you can generate.

The reports analyse the last 12 months, and you can choose to show monthly, two-monthly or quarterly charts. Some of these reports also include a comparison with the previous 12 months

If you've selected the 'Budget' option when generating the report, you can see the budget analysis for the last 12 months in the Sales, Expense and Profitability reports.

Note that budget analysis is not currently available for businesses using the new MYOB Essentials.

If accounts payable balances don't match Essentials or AccountRight?

If you find discrepancies, it could be due to differences in how purchase debits are treated. For example, if a debit note's journal date is after the advisory report end date, but it was fully applied or refunded in the reporting period, the advisory report will ignore the debit note, but MYOB Essentials will factor it into the payables balance.

If a debit note scenario does cause a discrepancy between the advisory report and the MYOB Essentials or AccountRight reports, you'll see a note in the chart narrative.
