In the Online files view, you can open your Essentials or AccountRight files and even your Ledger files that you've migrated from AE/AO desktop.
You'll need to install the AccountRight Launcher so that you can open an AccountRight file from the Transaction processing page. You only need to do this the very first time you go to open any AccountRight file.
Don't see any MYOB Essentials files listed? Maybe you haven't been given access to your practice's files. A practice administrator can log in to MYOB Essentials and give you access.
- Go to the Transaction processing > Online files tab.
Click the MYOB Essentials business name. The file will open in a new browser tab, so that you can finish setting up the business. If you've already set up the file, you'll go directly to the transaction listings.
If you have a New Zealand client using MYOB Essentials Payroll, you'll be taken to the Set up your client's new MYOB account page where you can complete setting up your client's business.
- Go to the Transaction processing > Online files tab, and click the AccountRight file that you want to open. The You need the AccountRight Launcher dialog displays.
Click Download to download the AccountRight Launcher app onto your desktop computer.
Install the AccountRight Launcher.
Depending on your browser and how you've configured its settings, there may be a few extra steps at this point, for example you may need to click Run to install the AccountRight Launcher executable.
- Click Close on the MYOB AccountRight Launcher window that displays.
Go back to the Transaction processing page.
Click on the AccountRight file that you want to open. You'll receive an External Protocol Request.
Select the Remember my choice for all links of this type checkbox on the External Protocol Request.
The External Protocol Request won't display the next time you want to open an AccountRight file.
Click Launch Application. Your new file displays in AccountRight.
Complete the set up of your file and use the AccountRight help for more info.
Click an AccountRight business from the Transaction processing page, it will now automatically open in AccountRight.
If you click the Remember my choice for all links of this type checkbox on the External Protocol Request and don't click Launch Application, the AccountRight file won't open in AccountRight and you'll run into problems.
Some possible solutions would be to reset this preference in your browser (look for the AccountRight protocol handler settings) or use a different browser from now on.
