Opening an online file

In the Online files view, you can open your Essentials or AccountRight files. If you're an MYOB AE/AO user, you can even open your Ledger files that you've migrated from MYOB AE/AO.
You can also open files from the Client workspace page.

If you've received an email or in-product message saying that your client's MYOB Essentials business will be soon upgraded, learn more about what you need to do.

  3. Click the ledger name. The file opens in a new browser tab.

To open an MYOB Essentials/MYOB Business file

AddAdd

Don't see any MYOB Essentials or MYOB Business files listed? You might not have been given access to your practice's files. A practice administrator can log in to MYOB Essentials or MYOB Business and give you access.

  1. Go to the Client files > Online files tab.

  2. Click the MYOB Business/MYOB Essentials business name. The file opens in a new browser tab so that you can finish setting up the business. If you've already set up the file, you'll go directly to the transaction listings.

    • Tick

When you try to access the file from Client files the first time, you may see a list of all of your client's businesses rather than the dashboard for that business. Click the business again to access it.

    • Tick

If you have a New Zealand client using MYOB Essentials Payroll, you'll be taken to the Set up your client's new MYOB account page where you can complete setting up your client's business.

To open an AccountRight file

AddAdd
  1. Go to the Client files > Online files tab.

  2. Click the AccountRight file that you want to open. The file opens in a new browser tab. Changes you make to transaction data in the AccountRight file will be saved back in the Client files.

    • Tick

When you try to access the file from Client files the first time, you may see a list of all of your client's businesses rather than the dashboard for that business. Click the business again to access it.

    • Tick

You can still access all your files in AccountRight on the desktop. There are still some features on the way for working with AccountRight files in the browser. For these features, you'll need to work with the file in AccountRight on the desktop.

    • Tick

You may have previously been opening AccountRight files on the desktop via the Client files page. If so, you no longer need the AccountRight Launcher that you had to install to access those files on the desktop, since the files now open in the browser.

Troubleshooting

  • When I click on an online file, it opens the ARL Launcher?
If you still see an ARL Launcher when opening an online file, clear the cache in your browser.
