Restore data from a backup

There are several ways to back up your data in Ace Payroll. If you run into a problem and need to use these backups, follow the instructions below to restore your data.

Restoring your data will erase any changes you've made since the backup was made.

If you are moving your data from one computer to another using backups, follow the instructions to transfer Ace Payroll to another computer.

 

To restore data from a local backup
  1. Open Ace Payroll, and from the front screen click Utilities > Restore From Backup.

  2. The Make Another Backup? window appears. Click GO.

  3. The Restore Data Files window appears. Click Go.

  4. The Date & Backup File Report window opens. Click Go.

To restore data from a USB backup
  1. Insert your USB stick into your computer.

  2. Open Ace Payroll, and from the front screen click Utilities > Restore From Backup.

  3. The Make Another Backup? window appears. Click GO.

  4. The Restore Data Files window appears. Click Setup.



  5. On the left side of the window expand your USB drive and click the name of your backup folder, then click GO to close the window.

  6. In the Restore Data Files window, click GO to restore your data.



  7. The Backup & Data File Report window opens. Click GO.

  8. To make sure your data has been restored correctly, we recommend checking reports such as the One Off Report and the Summary Report.
To restore data from an internet backup
  1. From the front screen, click Utilities > Ace Payroll Online > Internet Backup.

  2. Click theRestore button. The Internet Restore window opens and shows you the archives available to restore.

  3. Click the archive you want to restore. A green tick appears next to it.

  4. At the top of the window, click Restore Now to restore your backup.

  5. Ace Payroll guides you through the restore process.
To restore data from an auto backup
  1. From the front screen click Utilities > Restore From Backup.

  2. The Make Another Backup? window appears. Click GO.

  3. The Restore Data Files window appears. Click From Auto Backup.



  4. The Date & Backup File Report window opens. Click Go.
