Deleting an asset

You can only delete an active asset in the year it was created.

Deleting an asset removes the asset from the database for the current year and any subsequent years.

You cannot delete an asset that is displayed as active in the current year but that has been sold in a subsequent year. An error message will be displayed if you attempt to do so.

To delete an asset

Open the Assets Listing page. See Opening an asset year.
Select the active asset to be deleted. You must select the active asset in the year it was created.
Click Delete asset on the TASKS bar, or select Delete from the right-click menu. The selected active asset is deleted in the current year and for all subsequent years.

To delete a sold asset

Open the Assets Listing page. See Opening an asset year.
Navigate to the year the selected asset was sold.
Unsell the sold asset. See Reversing the sale of an asset.
Navigate to the year the selected asset was created.
Delete the selected asset. See Todeleteanasset above.
