Launching a ledger

You are able to open the general ledger application that you have integrated with Client Accounting. You can then make changes to the general ledger whilst accessing the information in Client Accounting.

To open the general ledger application
  1. Open the client’s Client Accounting > Trial Balance tab (called the Workpapers tab if you are licensed for Workpapers).

  2. Click Launch ledger on the TASKS bar.

  3. The Launch ledger option could be any one of:
    1. Launch Ledger

    2. (Australia) Launch Accounts

    3. Launch AE/AO Ledger

    4. (AO) Launch AO GL

    5. Launch Cashbook

    6. Launch MAS.

The specific general ledger application opens.

If you have a MYOB AO Classic general ledger

  • If you are integrated with a MYOB AO Classic general ledger, the Employee Code must be the same in MYOB AE/AO as it is in MYOB AO Classic.

  • In order to be able to launch MYOB AO Classic from Client Accounting, you must have MYOB AO Classic v16.0.4 or later (Australia)/v16.0.2 or later (New Zealand) installed.

If you have an Essentials Accounting general ledger

If you have selected an Essentials Accounting file as the client’s financial data source, then launching Essentials Accounting from Client Accounting will open a browser window where you will be prompted to login using your MYOB login.

You can save your username and/or password to streamline this process.

If you have an Essentials Cashbook general ledger

If you have selected an Essentials Cashbook file as the client’s financial data source, then launching Essentials Cashbook from Client Accounting will open a browser window where you will be prompted to login using your MYOB login.

You can save your username and/or password to streamline this process.
