Adding and maintaining structure responsibility

The practice structure is divided into:

  • Department

  • Office

  • Company.

To add and maintain structure responsibility
  1. Find and open the client, contact or supplier.

  2. Click the Responsibility tab.

  3. Click the magnifying glass button in the Dept field of the Structure Responsibility section. The Find Departments window opens.

  4. Search for a Department.
    This can be done in a number of ways:

    1. Enter the name of the department in the Search for field and click Search to list departments with the search criteria in the names. Select a department from the resulting list.
    2. Select Search any part and enter the search criteria in the Search for field. Click Search and select a department from the resulting list.
    3. Click Search to display all the departments and select a department from the resulting list.

      Double-clicking the department name in the Find Departments window selects the department and closes the window.

    4. Click OK. This will select the department and close the window. The name of the selected department is displayed in the Dept field on the Responsibility tab.
  5. Click the magnifying glass button in the Office field of the Structure Responsibility section. The Find Office window opens.

  6. Search for an Office.
    This can be done in a number of ways:

    1. Enter the name of the office in the Search for field and click Search to list offices with the search criteria in the names. Select an office from the resulting list.

    2. Select Search any part and enter the search criteria in the Search for field. Click Search and select an office from the resulting list.
    3. Click Search to display all the offices and select an office from the resulting list.

      Double-clicking the office name in the Find Office window selects the office and closes the window.

  7. Click the magnifying glass button in the Company field of the Structure Responsibility section. The Find Companies window opens.
  8. Search for a Company. This can be done in a number of ways: .
    1. Enter the name of the company in the Search for field and click Search to list companies with the search criteria in the names. Select a company from the resulting list.
    2. Select Search any part and enter the search criteria in the Search for field.Click Search and select a company from the resulting list.
    3. Click Search to display all the companies and select a company from the resulting list.
  9. Click OK.This will select the office and close the window. The name of the selected office is displayed in the Office field on the Responsibility tab.
  10. Enter additional information in the Notes section, if required.
  11. Click OK. This will save the structure Responsibility details and close the tab.
