Associated tab

The Associated tab is available on the:

  • Client page

  • Contact page

  • (AE) Supplier page.

The Associated tab is used to view and create links from the selected client, contact or (AE) supplier to an Adding associations to existing contacts or create a Adding associations to new contacts as you define the relationship.

For example, if you add an organisation to the database as a client, contact or supplier, you will probably want to add an association to an actual person who will be your contact point for that organisation or create a link to the director.

(AE) These associations will then be available for selection when you create a letter, bill or mail merge for the organisation.

When you set up an association with another client or contact in the database, a two-way relationship link is created between the two. When a link is made for a client/contact in this tab, a reciprocal entry is made in the Associated tab of the client/contact you have defined as an association. You can click the name of any listed associate to go to their Client or Contact page.

When viewing the associations in this tab you can filter the associations displayed by changing the selection in the Show relationships of type drop-down. For example, if there is a long list of associations, you may choose to select ‘has Bank…/Is Bank of…’ link from this list to view only the associations that fall within this relationship category. When you view an existing client or contact, the list of relationships shows all the associations linked to the client or contact.

To view the addresses and notes you must expand the association.

Click the associate’s hyperlinked name to open the associate’s Client/Contact/(AE) Supplier page.
