Key attributes mapping

Accountants Enterprise only

The mapping between the fields on a client's Main tab and the Extra tab is viewed and set using the Key Attributes Mapping and Data Update wizard. This is accessed from Maintenance > User defined > Key Attributes Mapping.

This page shows the Extra field used for each of the key client attributes.

To map, or re-map, these entries, open Key Attributes Mapping (Maintenance > User defined > Key Attributes Mapping), then click Update to open the Key Client Attributes Mapping and Data Update wizard.

Follow the appropriate instructions for Australia or New Zealand in Using the Key Client Attributes Mapping and Data Update wizard.

The Maintenance  Extra Fields page (MaintenanceUser defined > Extra Fields) shows which extra fields have been mapped to a key client attribute. See Extra fields.

Key client attributes

The key client details required for compliance work are now set as system-defined data fields. The client attributes which have been set as system-defined are:

For Australia:

  • Date of birth

  • TFN (Tax File Number)

  • ABN (Australian Business Number)

  • ACN (Australian Company Number).

This enables MYOB AE to validate the details entered into these business numbers against the ATO requirements and to directly link these data values to the tax return.

For New Zealand:

  • DOB (date of birth)

  • IRD (Inland Revenue Department)

  • BALMTH (balance month).

This enables MYOB AE to validate the details entered into these business numbers against the IRD requirements and to directly link these data values to the tax return.

These key client attributes are displayed on the Client page > Main tab and are linked to Extra fields.

See Using the Key Client Attributes Mapping and Data Update wizard for details about setting up these key client attributes.
