Accountants Enterprise with Practice Manager only

This tab on the Nominal Codes page lists the Data Entry Code Types and enables you to select which nominal code is mapped to each code type by default.

The four drop-downs list the nominal codes as defined in the Nominal Code List tab, plus a -None- default option (for use when you want to map nominal codes manually).

 

To select your default nominal code for each code type
  1. Select MaintenanceLedger Maintenance > Nominal Codes on the main menu or MaintenanceMaintenance MapLedger Maintenance > Nominal Codes. The Nominal Codes page opens at the Nominal Code Defaults tab.

  2. Select the most appropriate default code from the Timesheet Codes drop-down, for example 194 Fees Time Billed.

  3. Select the most appropriate default code from the Disbursement Codes drop-down, for example, 193 Disbursements Billed.

  4. Select the most appropriate default code from the Miscellaneous Charge Codes drop-down, for example 194 Fees Time Billed.

  5. Select the most appropriate default code from the Estimate to Complete Codes drop-down, for example 194 Fees Time Billed.

  6. If you want to manually set up your Nominal Codes, select another tab (e.g., Nominal Code List) or click Close to complete Nominal Code set up and close the Nominal Codes page.

Your default Nominal Codes may be edited later if necessary.

Creating new companies after setting up defaults

When you create a new company (using MaintenanceInternal > Companies) :

  • all defined nominal codes are mapped to the company.

  • all data entry codes are mapped to the company using the default mapping defined on the Data Entry Codes Available for Company tab.

  • the nominal code defaults are applied to the data entry codes.

Creating new data entry codes after setting up defaults

When you create a new data entry code (using MaintenanceMiscellaneous > Code Types) after setting up your defaults, the default nominal code is mapped to the newly created data entry code according to the code’s type.
