Adding partner responsibility

Defining Partner Responsibility is not mandatory, but it is advisable to complete it for reporting purposes.

  1. Find and open the client, contact or supplier.
  2. Click the Responsibility tab.
  3. Click the ellipse button in the Partner field of the Partner Responsibility section.The Find Partners window opens.
  4. Select a partner. This can be done in a number of ways:

    1. Enter the name of the partner in the Search for field and click Search to list partners with the search criteria in the names. Select a partner from the resulting list.
    2. Select Search any part and enter the search criteria in the Search for field. Click Search and select a partner from the resulting list.
    3. Click Search to display all the partners and select a partner from the resulting list.

    Double-click the name of a partner in the Find Partners window to select the partner and close the window.

  5. Click OK. This will select the partner and close the Find Partners window. The name of the selected partner is displayed in the Partner field on the Responsibility tab.
  6. Enter the Start Date and End Date, if applicable. Enter the date in the format dd/mm/yyyy for the period the partner was assigned to the client, contact or supplier or select the date from the drop-down calendar.

    Enter an End Date when a client, contact or supplier’s partner changes, otherwise the client, contact or supplier will be displayed inaccurately in reports under the responsibility of multiple partners.

  7. Enter additional information in the Notes section, if required
  8. Click OK. The Partner Responsibility details are saved and the Supplier page closes.
Editing partner responsibility

To edit partner responsibility start and end dates:

  1. Find and open the client, contact or (AE) supplier.
  2. Click the Responsibility tab.
  3. Modify the Start or End Dates of the partner responsibility for the period the partner was assigned to the client, contact or supplier.
    Enter the dates in dd/mm/yyyy format or select the Start or End Dates from the drop-down calendar.
  4. Enter additional information in the Notes section if required.

  5. Click OK. The Partner Responsibility details are saved.

Allocating new partner responsibility

To allocate a new partner responsibility:

  1. Find and open the client, contact or (AE) supplier.
  2. Click the Responsibility tab.
  3. Enter the End Date for the current partner in dd/mm/yyyy format to allocate a different partner to the client, contact or supplier in the Partner Responsibility section.
    Alternatively, select the End Date from the drop-down calendar.

    Enter an End Date when a client, contact or supplier’s partner changes, otherwise the client, contact or supplier will be displayed inaccurately in reports under the responsibility of multiple partners.

  4. Click the ellipse button in the first blank row of the Partner field. The Find Partners window opens.

  5. Select a new partner. This can be done in a number of ways:

    • Enter the name of the partner in the Search for field and click Search to list partners with the search criteria in the names. Select a partner from the resulting list.

    • Select Search any part and enter the search criteria in the Search for field. Click Search and select a partner from the resulting list.

    • Click Search to display all the partners and select a partner from the resulting list.

      Double-click the name of a partner in the Find Partners window to select the partner and close the window.

  6. Click OK. This will select the new partner and close the Find Partners window. The name of the new partner is displayed in the Partner  field of the Partner Responsibility section.
  7. Enter the Start Date for the period the partner was assigned to the client, contact or supplier. Enter the date in the format dd/mm/yyyy or select the StartDate from the drop-down calendar.
  8. Enter additional information in the Notes section, if required.
  9. Click OK. The modified Partner Responsibility details are saved and the Supplier tab closes.
