Responsibility update

The Responsibility Update function enables you to update a client partner responsibility or contact/client team, or assignment team (AE).

These steps can also be followed to run a bulk Responsibility update to replace a client partner, contact/client team, or assignment team with a new client partner, manager or assignment manager for example.

To update partner history
  1. Select MaintenanceMaintenance Map > Internal > Responsibility Update on the main menu. The Maintenance — Responsibility Update page opens.

  2. Click the Update Partner History checkbox. This will allow you to do a bulk removal of a partner from clients and replace with another partner.

  3. Enter the date in the Date Effect From field that you want the update to take effect from. Enter the date in the format dd/mm/yyyy or select the date from the drop-down calendar. Do not select a date prior to the current system date.

  4. Click the magnifying glass button beside the Partner To Remove field. The Find Partners window opens.

  5. Find and select the partner you would like to remove and click OK.

  6. Click the magnifying glass button beside the Partner To Insert field. The Find Partners window opens.

  7. Find and select the partner you would like to insert and click OK.

  8. Click Update. The Responsibility Update confirmation window opens.

  9. Click OK.

  10. Click Close to finish and close the Maintenance — Responsibility Update page.

All reports in Practice Manager run off the current partner only. The partner history and start/end dates are not used when reports are generated.

If you need the financial information to stay with the old partner, we advise creating a new client for the new partner.
