Setting up assignment billing timetables to track budgets

Accountants Enterprise with Practice Manager only

If your practice wants to track budgets against actual figures:

  • Enter monthly entries in the Assignment Billing Timetable on the Assignment Details page > Main tab to reflect expected billing levels.

  • Customise the homepage to include the Budget Variance option to manage the budget variance information.

  • Use the Assignment Budget Variance Report from Reports to compare the arbitrary fee analysis to the budgeted billing activity entered through the Assignment Billing Timetable.

The use of the functions is optional.

To set up the assignment billing timetable
  1. Find and open the client’s assignment. See Finding and opening assignments. The Assignment Details Page opens.

  2. Select the Main tab.

  3. In the Assignment Billing Timetable, enter the:

    1. Date—You can enter multiple dates and amounts for a processing period. The budget figures are added together for the period.

    2. Amount—This is the budget amount for the date entered. You can enter multiple dates and amounts for a processing period. The budget figures are added together for the period.

    3. Comment—This is a description of each amount entered.

  4. Click OK to save the information.
