Using the Lost Time field in the employee productivity report

Practice Manager only

The standard Employee Productivity report in MYOB Practice Manager contains a field called ‘Lost Time’. This field is designed to reduce the standard hours of an employee by the hours in the lost time fields to calculate available hours for the purposes of calculating the productivity percentage.

Lost time is controlled by the assignment types in AE and job type templates in AO.  Any time posted to assignments linked to assignment types (AE) or jobs linked or job type templates (AO) where Included Time is not ticked, is treated as lost time i/e/ non-productive time.

To set up a lost time assignment type (AE)

In this example, we’ll be adding the assignment type of Jury Duty.

  1. In AE Practice Manager, click MaintenanceAssignment > Assignment Types. The Assignment Types page appears.

  2. Place the cursor in the Description field on the new record row, type Jury Duty and press [Tab]. The cursor moves the Chargeable column.

  3. Select the relevant boxes (in the case of Jury Duty, none of the options are ticked (specifically Included Time) as this time is non-chargeable non-productive time).

By selecting none of the checkboxes you have created a non-chargeable non-productive assignment type. This has set a value (Y or Yes) against the Lost Time custom list on assignments of that type. This can be seen on the Extra tab of those specific assignments.

Selecting any of the options in MaintenanceAssignment > Assignment Types removes the value from the Lost Time extra, and time against that assignment type is no longer deemed as lost time. Deselecting all of the options sets the value of the Lost Time extra to Y or Yes.

  4. Click OK to save the changes. The Homepage appears.

To setup a lost time job type template (AO)

The instructions below use the example of adding the job type template of Jury Duty.

  1. In AO Practice Manager, follow the menu path: Maintenance > Maintenance Map > Job Type Templates. The Maintenance - Job Types tab opens.
  2. Place the cursor in the Name As field on the new record row, type Jury Duty and press Tab. The cursor moves the Code As column.
  3. Enter a code, in this example, JD and press Tab. The cursor moves to the Chargeable field.
  4. Tick the relevant boxes (in the case of Jury Duty, none of the options are ticked (specifically Included Time) as this time is non-chargeable non-productive time).

  5. Click OK. The Maintenance Map appears.
