Activating your Payroll software protects against software piracy and provides reassurance that you're using an authentic product that can be trusted with your valuable business data. Once activated, each Payroll company file needs to be periodically confirmed.

This topic provides information on these processes.

For more information on activation and confirmation, check our website.

Activation

To activate a new company file
  1. Click Create a new Payroll.
  2. Enter the details of your new file, then click OK.
  3. Choose an option to Activate your Payroll Data file.

You can activate your file online, over the phone, or choose to activate it later. If you choose to activate later you will have 90 days to do so. If this period elapses your file will become read-only.

Confirmation

You will be prompted to confirm your company files regularly. When you are prompted to confirm your file, you'll have 14 days to do so before the file becomes read-only.

If Payroll is set to automatically confirm but the confirmation keeps failing

If the internet is down or there is a temporary issue with our activation/confirmation service, it may be necessary to turn off automatic confirmation.

To turn off automatic confirmation
  1. Go to the Tools menu and select Options.
  2. Click the System tab.
  3. Deselect the option Use automated online Payroll data file confirmation, then click Licence.
  4. Click Yes.
  5. Select I want to confirm my Payroll data file by phone, then click Next.
You are able to confirm your Payroll company file by phone.
