Setting up employees

To give an employee access to the features of the Aftersetting up Employee Self Service module, a user record must be created for the employee on the (ESS), you need to create user records for employees and managers who'll be using ESS features.

  1. Go to the Users screen (SM201010)
as follows:
  • The user record must include login and password details.
  • The “People ESS” role must be ticked

    2. Enter a Login for the employee.

    3. Set a password for the employee. You can either:

      • Select the Generate Password to automatically set their password.

      • Deselect the checkbox and manually enter a password.

    4. In the Linked Entity field, select the employee who'll be using this login.

    5. The People ESS role must be selected on the Roles tab.

    6. The

    “People User”
    1. People User licence

    type
    1. must be

    ticked
    1. selected on the Licence Types tab.

    2. The employee should be linked to the user record via the Linked Entity field on this screen.

    You must also set the default

    Pay Group

    pay group for each

    employee—this

    employee. This is the pay group that will be associated with any leave requests they make. On the Employee Pay Groups screen (MPPP2250), make sure that

    Setting up employees

    To give a user access to the management features of the Self Service module, a user record, including login and password details, must be created for the manager on the Users screen (SM201010) as follows:

    • The user record must include login and password details.
    • The “People MSS” role must be ticked on the Roles tab.
    • When using MYOB Advanced People in standalone mode, the “People User” licence type must be ticked on the Licence Types tab.
    • When using MYOB Advanced People in integrated mode, the “Employee User” licence type must be ticked on the Licence Types tab.

    The user should also be given access to the Approvals screen (EP503010), which they will use to approve leave requests.
