| Press Receipts. In the Receipt Tasks menu, press Add a new receipt. - Select the Customer from the drop down list that requires a refund.
- In the Date field insert the date for this transaction.
- Enter any additional information you may want to have displayed on the refund Example: Customer overpayment refund.
- Select the Use Unallocated Payment check box. Note: A credit note requires another receipt to be created to refund the credit note.
- Select to either Print, Save or Save & Add New receipt.
- Press Yes to complete the transaction. Note - press Refund if you are completing a refund for a credit note.

| If your customer wishes to apply their overpayment to another unpaid invoice you will need to follow this process. - Press Receipts.
- In the Receipt Tasks menu, press Add a new receipt.
- Select the Customer from the drop down list that requires an overpayment to be applied to an unpaid invoice.
- In the Date field insert the date for this transaction.
- Enter any additional information you may want to have displayed on the transaction. Example: Customer overpayment applied to outstanding account.
- Select the Use Unallocated Payment check box.
- If the Unallocated Payment is able to pay an Unpaid in full, select the checkbox marked Fully then proceed to Step 9.
- If the Unallocated Payment can only form a part payment on an Unpaid Invoice, insert the amount of the Unallocated Payment in the Amount Paid field then proceed to Step 9.
- Select to either Print, Save or Save & Add New receipt.
- Click Yes to complete the transaction.
