This page describes how to export stock records from RetailEnterprise into RetailManager. First, you'll run the Import & Export Wizard in RetailEnterprise, then import the file into RetailManager.

title1. Run the Import & Export Wizard in RetailEnterprise
  1. Open RetailEnterprise Central.
  2. Go to the File menu and choose Import & Export. The Import & Export Wizard is launched as shown below.

  3. Select the Export Data option.
  4. Click Browse and open the RMCentral.mdb file.
  5. From the drop-down list select the table called Stock and click Export. This will export all stock from your Enterprise Database.  
  6. Specify the folder where you want to save the export file. You can choose to export the file to any location, including a USB sick, CD ROM, or over a network to another computer. To change the location, click the drop down arrow on the right hand side of the Save In field then browse to the location of your choice.
  7. Click OK to the following message.

title2. Import stock into RetailManager
  1. Start RetailManager at your store location.
  2. Go to the File menu and choose Import & Export.
  3. Click Continue.
  4. Select Import then click Next.
  5. Browse to find your stock.txt file which was exported in the first part of this support note.
  6. Bowse to find your Shopfront Folder (the database you want to import into), and open recent.mdb, then click Next.
  7. Change the Field Separator option to Tab as shown below.

  8. Click Next.
  9. Select the Add or Update option depending upon the function you are performing. An Add import will only add new records to the database; if the record already exists it will be ignored. An Update import will only update changes to existing records; if the record does not exist in the database it will be ignored. Select Tax Inclusive for the Imported costs and sell prices are option. See our example below.

  10. Click Next.
  11. Select the Match All By Name option and confirm that all fields are matched appropriately.
  12. Click Import.
