This error can be fixed by downloading and running the applicable register.bat file, then attempting to activate Payroll.

Close Payroll.

Click Determine the applicable file at the bottom of this support note (register32.bat or register64.bat).appropriate file below.

If your Windows version is 32-bit, use the register32.bat file.
If your Windows version is 64-bit, use the register64.bat file.
