On 15 October 2018, MYOB made a security change which may result in a 4001 error if you're using Windows 7. But it's easily fixed - see AccountRight Classic TLS security change for details.

If you're getting a "4001" connection error when using M-Powered services, you will need to change your internet setting as follows:
it means your computer can't connect to our server. To fix this, try changing your internet settings as shown below.

older Windows verisons
    • earlier Windows versions: Click the Windows Start button and choose Control Panel.

You

will now

'll now be able to successfully complete a Send\Receive in your M-Powered Service Centre.

If

this does not fix your issue you can follow the standard M-Powered: Common Connection Errors support note to try and solve your issue. A 4001 error simply means that you cannot connect to our server. This can be caused by firewall or antivirus settings. Port 443 must be open, you can disable firewall and antivirus software to test if they are causing the issue.

the issue persists

This error can also be caused by your firewall or antivirus software preventing the connection. Try temporarily disabling these programs to see if they're causing your issue. If the issue is resolved by disabling these programs, you'll need to modify your firewall or antivirus program to ensure they don't interfere with the M-Powered connection (port 443 needs to be "open"). You might need an IT person to help with this. Also see M-Powered Common Connection Errors (Australia only).
