AccountRight Premier v19 only

If one computer in a network receives the above error, other computers in the network will then receive an error advising "Unable to send message to <user name>".

This can occur every 1-2 hours.

The information below is intended for network administrators who typically have an understanding of Windows Server networks and Group Policies. As such, MYOB cannot provide additional support beyond what's provided below.

Cause

What causes this?

This issue is caused by a Group Policy applied to the mapped drive. As shown below, a Replace action has been specified on the Group Policy. This interrupts AccountRight every 1-2 hours when the Group Policies are refreshed on the local machines.

Resolution

How do I fix it?

Change the action for the Group Policy to Update as shown below.

An implication of doing this is that when a user is removed from an Organisational Unit or a Security Group related to that policy, the Group Policy will not remove the drive mapping.

For more information about configuring a mapped drive through Group Policies, see the following Microsoft technical article.
