Using AcountRight v19? Your help is here. Are you replacing your computer, or want to use AccountRight on more than one computer? The steps to get you up and runningdepend on whether your company file is online or offline (that is, stored locally on your desktop or server). Follow the instructions relevant to you. Before you start, check that your computer meets the system requirements for running AccountRight. Using AccountRight online (subscription required)- Get the latest AccountRight installer.
- Double-click the downloaded file and follow the prompts to install AccountRight.
- If you use personalised letters, have customised Microsoft Excel templates or use BASlink (Australia only), you also need to copy these files onto the new computer. See below for the location of your personalised files.
Note that all other files, such as customised invoices and payslips are stored in your online company file and don't need to be copied.

Using AccountRight offlineIf you're not working online, you'll need to move your company file and any other files you use, such as personalised letters and customised Excel templates. Copy your files from your old computer - Create a backup of your company file.
- Copy the backup file onto an external storage device, like a USB drive.
- (Optional) If you use personalised letters, have customised Microsoft Excel templates or use BASlink (Australia only), you also need to copy these files onto the new computer. See the tables above for the location of these files. Note that all other files, such as customised invoices and payslips are stored in your online company file and don't need to be copied.
Set up AccountRight on the new computer - Get the AccountRight installer.
- Double-click the downloaded file and follow the prompts to install AccountRight.
- Copy the files from the external storage device.
- Copy the backup file onto the Desktop (to make it easy to find).
- If you copied additional files from the first computer, copy these to the applicable folders (see the tables above).
- Restore the backup.
