PC (Windows)

  • Find the downloaded file. If you created a separate folder to save your downloads in, this will make them easier to find. The downloaded file could be a .zip, .pdf, or .exe file type, e.g. Release Notes.pdf. Here's a description of these file types:
  • .zip files are compressed files which contain one or more other files. Double-click the .zip file to view its contents (using the compression utility your computer uses, e.g. Winzip). You will need to extract the files from the .zip file to allow you to use them. Depending on the compression utility your computer uses, the process for extracting files from a .zip file will vary. For more information refer to your Windows help documentation, or if you use a 3rd party compression utility (such as Winzip), refer to its help documentation.
  • .pdf files are typically information documents, such as Upgrade Instructions, which open in a PDF reader such as Adobe Reader. Adobe Reader is free software and can be downloaded from here. If the PDF document doesn't open automatically when you click the link in my.MYOB, double-click the downloaded .pdf file to open it.
  • .exe files are installation files. To install your update, double-click the .exe file to run it, then follow the on-screen prompts.

Apple Mac

  • Look on your Hard Drive (HD) or use the Finder's toolbar to find the downloaded files. If you created a separate folder to save your downloads this will make them easier to find. You can also press Command-F to bring up the Find dialogue. Typically the update file will be an application type file and the instructions will be a PDF type format. You will need to use Adobe Reader to read the PDF document. This can be installed from your program CD or downloaded from here.
