This article takes you through the steps required to add an employee in to Advanced People.

Go to the Employees form (EP203000) by navigating from People > Payroll > Work Area > Manage>Employees

Click + to add new employee and fill out all the tabs.

  • General Info Tab—Contains employee's contact information, address and other general settings. All fields that are mark with a red asterisk are compulsory and must be completed before the record can be saved.
  • Employment History Tab—Add the employee Position and their status/basis. The start date is another compulsory field so must be completed to enable the record to be saved.
  • Financial Settings TabThe GL Account information will come through from your defaults set up in the Employee Class that has been applied on the General Info tab so this screen should just need the employee's account number and name added.
  • Attributes Tab—You can specify values of the attributes (if any) to categorize this employee. The list of attributes available on this tab depends on the attributes specified for the employee class to which the employee belongs.

Attributes can be added using the steps in the linked Knowledgebase Article

Adding pay details

Once all employee information has been entered click on Pay Details and this will take you to the details associated with paying the employee such as tax numbers and leave calculations etc.

From the pay details screen (MPPP2310), select Pay Groups from the Actions dropdown

Refer to this Knowledgebase Article for information on how to add an employee to a pay group.

Go back to the Pay Details screen and add the Standard Pay, Taxation and Employment details required for the employee.

Bank account detail

The bank account will show in the Pay Distribution screen and this can be accessed via the Actions dropdown in the same way you accessed Pay Groups for the employee.

You will need to add the Reference, Code and Particulars required to appear on the employee's bank statement. This is usually the Company name and Wages but can be any detail that your employee would like to see.

Refer to this Knowledgebase Article if you need to add multiple bank accounts for the employee.
