ANSWER ID:37527

This support note explains how to fix the following error when installing AccountRight v19:

This error means there's a corrupt file on your computer. To fix it, you'll need to temporarily move some folders on your computer. After instaling AccountRight you'll need to move these folders back to their original location.

To fix this error
  1. Simultaneously press the Windows  and E keys on your keyboard (the Windows  key is between the Ctrl and Alt keys). The File Explorer window appears.
  2. Navigate to the following folder:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\InstallShield Installation Information
If the Program Files (x86) folder doesn't exist, navigate here instead:
    C:\Program Files\InstallShield Installation Information
  3. Right-click the InstallShield Installation Information folder and choose New folder.
  4. Name the new folder whatever you like.
  5. Move all the folders in the InstallShield Installation Information folder to your new folder.
    1. Click the first folder.
    2. Hold the SHIFT key and click the last folder. All folders (except your new folder) will be selected.
    3. Click and drag the selected folders to your new folder.

You will now be able to successfully install AccountRight.

After installing AccountRight

The folders you moved in the previous task need to be moved back to their original location.

  1. Repeat the steps above to access the InstallShield Installation Information folder.
  2. Double-click to open the new folder you created.
  3. Move all folders from your new folder back to the InstallShield Installation Information folder.
  4. Click the first folder.
  5. Hold the SHIFT key and click the last folder. All folders will be selected.
  6. Right-click the selected folders and choose Cut.
  7. Right-click the InstallShield Installation Information folder and choose Paste.
  8. When alerted that a folder with the same name already exists in this location, choose NOT to replace that folder. This is because the folder it's referring to is the one which caused your installation issue.
