This message may appear when running a Bank Reconciliation Report in BankLink Practice or BankLink Books.

Most banks provide the bank balance with the monthly data.  Where this is not downloaded with the data, you must edit or calculate the current balance for a bank account if you want to generate bank reconciliation reports.

 

To edit the bank account current balance

To edit the bank account current balance:

  1. Select Other Functions > Bank Accounts
  2. Highlight the bank account and click Edit
  3. Edit the Current Balance as at dd/mm/yy amount and select the correct In Funds or Overdrawn label.
  4. Click OK 
To calculate the current balance
  1. Select Other Functions > Bank Accounts
  2. Highlight the bank account and click Edit
  3. Click the Calculator button
  4. Enter a bank balance in the Balance Field
  5. Select from either IF In Funds or OD Overdrawn
  6. Enter the date of the bank balance in the as at beginning of field
  7. Click Calculate and check the balance is correct
  8. Click Update to confirm the bank balance
  9. Click OK

The Bank Reconciliation report can now be run.
