BankLink Notes Online

BankLink Notes Online relies mostly on Microsoft Silverlight to load successfully on your browser.

Safari is the browser most Mac users currently use. Recently Safari changed their security settings in regards to Silverlight and are treating Silverlight as an unsafe application because it saves information to your local machine.

Solution

There are two solutions to resolve this issue:

  • use Mozilla Firefox as an alternative browser, and ensure the plug in of Microsoft Silverlight has been enabled, or
  • run Microsoft Silverlight on Safari in unsafe mode.

We suggest you use Firefox as an alternative browser as Silverlight 5 (the latest version of Silverlight) is not supported on Google Chrome.

To check which browsers are supported by Microsoft Silverlight, see http://www.microsoft.com/getsilverlight then click the System Requirements tab.

To enable Microsoft Silverlight in Firefox

  1. Open the Firefox browser.
  2. Click Tools.
  3. Click on Add Ons > Plug Ins.
  4. Check that Microsoft Silverlight in the list is enabled and is always activated.

To run Microsoft Silverlight on Safari in unsafe mode

  1. Open Safari.
  2. Select Safari Menu.
  3. Select Preferences.
  4. Click Security Tab.
  5. Click Manage Website Settings.
  6. Search for Silverlight on list, highlight and select RUN IN UNSAFE MODE.
  7. Restart Safari.
