When you uninstall AcountRight, parts of the software might be left behind which can interfere with future AccountRight installations. For example, after uninstalling AccountRight it still might be shown in your list of installed programs.

This is a quirk with Windows, and Microsoft have a Fix It tool which will fix the issue.

Before you begin

To use Microsoft's Fix It tool you'll need to log in to your computer as an administrator or a user with administrator access.

Running the Microsoft "Fix it" tool

Microsoft's Fix It tool finds and fixes issues which are preventing programs installing or uninstalling on your computer.

To run the Fix It tool

  1. Click this link to open the Microsoft support site: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/mats/program_install_and_uninstall
  2. Click Run Now. The Fix It tool opens.

The Fix it utility and instructions are available on the Microsoft support site:

Using the AccountRight registry cleaner

Use the registry cleaner below for the AccountRight version you're trying to remove. There's separate registry cleaners for Australia and New Zealand and for AccountRight Standard, Plus, Premier and Enterprise.

Right-click the applicable link and save the file to your Desktop, then double-click the downloaded file to run the registry cleaner. Don't forget to restart your computer when done.
