After you’ve downloaded your bank and credit card statements from your bank’s online banking site, you can import all the transaction details in these statements into LiveAccounts from the Banking page.
You can then use these details to allocate and match your bank transactions to your LiveAccounts transactions, and reconcile the bank’s figures against those in LiveAccounts.
As an added benefit, it provides an automatic check of the bank’s figures, fees and interest.
Downloading bank and credit card statements from your bank
Before you can import your statements in LiveAccounts’s Import Bank or Credit Card Statement window, download the statement files from your internet banking site, and save them on your computer or network.
You can import bank and credit card statements into LiveAccounts in two formats: .OFX and .QIF. Make sure you download your statements in one of these formats.
If you don’t use internet banking, you usually need to register to do so. Contact your bank or financial institution for more information.
To download bank and credit card statements from your bank x
- Go to your online banking website for this account and log in.
Download your statements in .OFX or .QIF format, saving them to a new folder on your computer or network.
- Ensure that each statement has a unique, easily identifiable name. Also make a note of the location your statements were saved to, so you can find them easily.

Importing bank and credit card statements into MYOB Essentials
Once you’ve downloaded the electronic statements from your online banking website, you’re ready to import them into LiveAccounts from the Banking page.
Before importing your bank and credit card statements
Before you import your statements, take note of the following:
- You can import statements that are earlier or later than the last one imported.
- If you want to import several months’ worth of statements, we suggest you import and then reconcile them one month at a time. This should make it easier to manage a large backlog of transactions.
- If you’re unsure which statements you’ve imported previously, go to the Import History page for this account. For more information see Viewing your bank statement import history.
To import bank and credit card statements x
- Click Banking. The Bank transactions page appears.
- Click the Import Bank or Credit Card Statement link above the Bank transactions list. The Import bank or credit card statement window appears.
- In the Bank/Credit Card Account field, select the account you want to import statements for.
Details of the last statement and transaction you imported for this account appear. Check these details to make sure you don’t import a statement twice, or skip a statement.
- In the Statement file field, click Browse. The Windows File Upload window appears.
- Locate the statement file you want to import and click Open. The Import bank or credit card statement window reappears, with the file path listed in the Statement file field.
If you’re importing a .QIF format statement, select a Date format if using QIF from the list.
- Click Import Now to import the statement data into the account.
A message appears, telling you how many statement lines were imported successfully.
