Enabling 2-step verification adds an extra layer of security to your MYOB account by requiring both your password and a unique code from your phone. That means that even if someone knows your password, they won't be able to access your account.

Here's what you'll need to enable 2-step verification:

  1. Your smartphone (Apple, Android or Windows)
  2. Your MYOB account details 
1. Installing an Authentication App

First, you need to download an authentication app on your smartphone. You'll use this app to get the verification code used to sign in to your MYOB account.

Find your device below for instructions on how to download the app.

If you're using an Apple phone

  1. Open the App Store app on your device.
  2.  Search for "Google Authenticator" and look for this icon:
       
  3. Download and install Google Authenticator onto your phone.

If you're using an Android phone

  1. Open the Google Play app on your device.
  2. Search for "Google Authenticator" and look for this icon:
  3. Download and install Google Authenticator onto your phone.

If you're using a Windows phone

  1. Open the Windows Store app on your device.
  2. Search for Microsoft Authenticator and look for this icon:
     
  3. Download and install the application onto your phone.

 

2. Scanning the barcode and entering the verification code

Once the Authenticator app is downloaded, open the app and follow the instructions until you are prompted to scan a barcode.

  1. Use your phone's camera to scan the barcode on the 2-step verification setup screen.
      
  2. A set of codes will appear in the Authenticator App.

3. Enter the verification code

With you verification codes in hand, you can now complete the 2-step verification setup process.

  1. Enter the verification code associated with your MYOB username into the Verification code field on your setup screen.
  2. Click Turn on 2-step verification, and you should see a confirmation page:  

Your MYOB account is now protected by 2-step verification.

Remember to download your back codes. Keep your backup codes in a safe and handy location, such as your wallet, as they allow you to access your MYOB account when you don't have your mobile phone.
