MYOB ODBC Direct is an ODBC (Open Database Connectivity) driver designed to enable an ODBC connection to an MYOB company file.

The ODBC driver is a Windows-compatible component with functionality that enables access to your MYOB business information. The driver acts as an interface between the MYOB database and other applications, interpreting requests to, and providing information from, the database using the most popular database industry standard, ODBC.

The instructions below are intended for people with an understanding of Data Source Names (DSNs) and the function of the ODBC driver. Typically this will be an IT person or your system administrator.

To check if your ODBC driver is compatible with your 3rd party solution, check with the solution provider.

To remove all installed MYOB ODBC Data Source Names (DSNs)
  1. Open the Control Panel

    • In Windows 8 and later, right-click the Windows Start button and choose Control Panel.

    • In Windows 7 and earlier, click the Windows Start button and choose Control Panel.
  2. Click Administrative Tools.
  3. Double-click ODBC Data Sources.
  4. Click the User DSN tab.
  5. Identify any MYOB ODBC DSNs - these can be identified in the Driver column as being an MYOB ODBC drivers.
  6. If found, click the MYOB ODBC DSN then click Remove.
  7. Click the System DSN tab.
  8. Identify any MYOB ODBC DSNs - these can be identified in the Driver column as being an MYOB ODBC drivers.
  9. If found, click the MYOB ODBC DSN then click Remove.
  10. Click OK to the ODBC Data Source Administrator window.
To uninstall (remove) the ODBC driver
  1. Open the Control Panel

    • In Windows 8 and later, right-click the Windows Start button and choose Control Panel.

    • In Windows 7 and earlier, click the Windows Start button and choose Control Panel.
  2. Click Programs and Features.
  3. Click MYOB ODBC Direct then click Uninstall.
  4. Follow the onscreen instructions to uninstall MYOB ODBC Direct.
To install the ODBC driver
  1. Click the Windows Start button, choose All apps (or All Programs), then choose your MYOB software, for example MYOB AccountRight Premier v19.
  2. Click Install MYOB ODBC Direct. Depending on your MYOB version, this option might be in a folder called MYOB Tools.The installation process begins.
  3. Follow the onscreen instructions to install the ODBC driver.
