Running a workstation setup for AE Reporter (NZ)

When installing MYOB Accountants Enterprise (AE) Reporter, after installing the server component, you'll then need to run the workstation setup. The Reporter workstation setup (also known as the Reporter Integration Setup) must be run on both the server and subsequently on each workstation.

This is also the case for a new standalone installation. After installing the full version of reporter, you'll then need to run the workstation setup.

The workstation install/s must be run the following order:

Run setup.exe to install the Reporter version 3.3 workstation component.
Run Reporter_3_4_WorkstationSetup.exe to upgrade the reporter version to 3.4 on the workstation.

Before you begin, if you're installing on a Windows 8 or 10 workstation, ensure User Account Control (UAC) has been turned off prior to installing. For more details, refer to Disabling User Account Control (UAC).

Lets see how this is done.

1. Install Reporter 3.3 workstation (setup.exe)

Open Windows Explorer or Computer and navigate to X:\Sol64\Setup\Reporter Integration\. Where X:\ is your installed location.
Right-click the setup.exe file and select Run as administrator. The installation wizard appears.

If you do not see the extension .exe, right-click on the setup file which has the type of Application. To turn on file extensions, refer to Viewing hidden files, folders and drives or enabling file extensions in Windows.
Answer the questions as required as the wizard continues, then click Finish. The installation is completed completes.

The installation location differs depending on the Windows operating system:
32 bit - C:\Program Files\MYOB\Reporter\
64 bit - C:\Program Files (x86)\MYOB\Reporter\

2. Install Reporter 3.4 workstation (MYOBAEReporterWorkstation3_4_AU.exe)

Navigate to X:\Sol64\Setup\Reporter Integration\. Where X:\ is your installed location. The files and folders for this location appear.
Right-click the Reporter_3_4_WorkstatioSetup.exe file and select Run as administrator. The installation wizard appears.

If you do not see the extension .exe, right-click on the setup file which has the type of Application.
Answer the questions as required as the wizard continues, then click Finish. The installation completes.

In the Destination Folder window select the same location as for version 3.3 for your Windows operating system, however with the addition of the 3.3 folder:
32 bit - C:\Program Files\MYOB\Reporter\3.3\
64 bit - C:\Program Files (x86)\MYOB\Reporter\3.3\ If you select a different location to where AE Reporter 3.3 was installed, you will experience the error "This update is unable to detect AE Reporter program files from the selected directory. Please select the correct directory and continue".
