MYOB Accountants Office (AO) allows you to specify a folder to store documents for your clients.

If you want to change the Client Document Path for all new clients, do this by adjusting the Document Path field on the Clients > Defaults tab of the Tools > Options window.

You can change the existing Client Document Path for clients via the Files tab in the Clients module. If you have too many clients to make this change on a one-by-one basis, please contact MYOB Support.

Please be aware that if this is found to be a complicated process, it may be beyond the scope of your Support Agreement, and may be a chargeable service via our Consulting Team.

To change the default Document Path
  1. Open Accountants Office, from the Tools menu, select Options. The Settings window appears.
  2. Click the Defaults tab. The default settings appear.
  3. Click the ellipsis button [...] on the Document Path field. The Browse for Folder window appears.
  4. Navigate to the required folder and click OK. The Document Path field updates to the new document path.
  5. Click the ellipsis button [...] on the Template Path field. The Browse for Folder window appears.
  6. Navigate to the required folder and click OK. The Template Path field updates to the new template path.
  7. Click OK. The desktop of Accountants Office appears.

New documents will now be created in the path specified at Step 4 above.

If the Automatically create a document folder based on ClientID option is selected on the Settings tab under Tools > Options..., Clients, a sub-folder is created for each client within the default Client Document Path.
The default Client Document Path for clients who did not previously have a Client Document Path specified is the new Document Path. However, the Client Document Path for clients who had an existing Client Document Path specified is not updated to the new Document Path. You can modify the existing Client Document Path on a per client basis by editing the Client Default Path value in the Files tab of the Clients module. 
To change the client's Document Path
  1. Open the Clients module. The clients module opens.
  2. Select the relevant Client and click the Files tab. The details of the Files tab appear.
  3. Click the Client Path button. The Change Document Path for - [client name] window appears.
  4. Either edit the folder path in the Client Default Path field, or click the ellipsis button [...]. The Browse for Folder window appears.
  5. Navigate to the required folder and click OK. The Client Default Path field updates to the new template path.
  6. Click OK. New documents are now created in the path specified.
