Error: "Cannot obtain unique access - other operators in tax"

  • AE Tax Series 6 & 8 (AU)

In MYOB Accountants Enterprise (AE) or Accountants Office (AO) Tax you may experience the error "Cannot obtain unique access - other operators in tax" during a Tax install.  Certain processes during the MYOB Tax install requires that no users to be accessing the application.

This error occurs when the system has detected other users accessing Tax during the install. To resolve this error ensure users are out of Tax.  If all users are out and you still experience the error, run the EPRESET routine to overcome this error.

To run EPRESET routine

Only for AE Tax users, if this fails to resolve the issue reset multiuser access.  For details refer to Setting single user access to System Release
