This support note applies to:

  • AO Tax (AU)
Article ID: 33908

When opening MYOB Accountants Office (AO) Tax, you may receive the error "Could not find a folder for the supplied pathname".

To resolve this error, review the System Release (SR) DAL settings and also ensure that SRDal is running.  Also review and add the relevant firewall exceptions.

How to check the SR DAL is running
  1. At the Windows Desktop, follow the menu path: Start > Control Panel > System Release DAL. The System Release Dal window appears.

  2. Click the Start button. The service is started.

If the Stop button is active, this indicates that the service is running. Please click the Stop button to stop the service then click the Start button to restart the service.
How to check the configuration is correct within SR DAL

Perform the following while SR DAL is stopped.

  1. Click the Configuration tab. The configuration details appear.
  2. Navigate to the SQL server to host databases field, and ensure the correct sql server name\instance name is showing in this field.  The server name is the server where the AO SQL database resides, and the instance is MYOBACCT.  The details are to be formatted as follows: <servername>\MYOBACCT

Ensure firewall exceptions have been added

Within any firewalls that exist on the network, add the exceptions for the following ports:
TCP: 1433 and 6606.
UDP: 1434.
Please consult with your IT provider if you are unsure of how to do this.

Reboot workstation or server

If you operate AO Tax on a standalone, reboot the workstation, if you use a network environment, reboot the server.
