FAQs: Practitioner Lodgment Services (PLS)

What you need to know:

The ATO is decommissioning AUSkey on 27 March 2020. See AUSkey decommissioning on the ATO website for more details.

  • If you’re using Lodgment Manager to lodge, you don’t need to do anything.

  • If you're using AUSkey Authentication to lodge, you can’t lodge after 27 March 2020. Talk to your client manager about how to upgrade your practice.

The following information is regarding some common queries that relate to the implementation and issues that you may encounter using the ATO's Practitioner Lodgment Service (PLS) to lodge your returns using MYOB Tax.

  • MYOB is currently rolling out PLS in stages. This allows us to be able to respond to client queries in a timely manner, as well as make any additional improvements in the lodgment process. For information on how to setup PLS using online help, refer to Setting up Tax using PLS

  • Activity Statements are not available to lodge via PLS as of yet. However, you can continue to lodge them using Lodgment > Electronic > Tag for lodgment from within Tax as you have done in the past.

You must have permissions to Prepare and Lodge activated in the ATO Access Manager.  If you do not have this applied you may experience errors in your validation report and failure to lodge. For details, refer to Updating permissions in ATO Access Manager.
