About changes from AE/AO

Corporate Compliance and Corporate Admin will be retired on 15 April 2024.
You won't be able to use either software after 15 April 2024. Learn what this means for you

When the name or address for any person or corporation is changed in MYOB AE/AO, Corporate Compliance checks if notification to ASIC is required. The changes in MYOB AE/AO that may require an ASIC form to be lodged include:

  • change of name or home address of an officeholder

  • change of business address or registered address of a corporation.

If the change from MYOB AE/AO may require notification to ASIC, then Corporate Compliance generates a task to inform you of the change.

You can access these tasks by either:

  • clicking Changes from AE or Changes from AO in the task panel

  • clicking on the message There are changes to AE. Click here to view. or There are changes to AO. Click here to view. in the Messages module.

Corporate Compliance checks for these changes when:

  • you next open Corporate Compliance

  • if Corporate Compliance is already open, when you next open that person or corporation in Corporate Compliance

  • if Corporate Compliance is already open when you select the menu Tools > Update from AE or Tools > Update from AO.

From the Changes from AE/Changes from AO module, you can:

  • Notify ASIC of the change by generating a form.

  • Not notify ASIC of the change by deleting the task.

To notify ASIC of the change of name or address

To generate an ASIC form to notify the change of name or address:

  1. Select the person or corporation in the Changes from AE/Changes from AO list.

  2. Select the menu Generate form.

    • If the change relates to a person, the Notify change of name or address wizard opens.

    • If the change relates to a corporation the Notify change of address wizard opens.

If a change is made in MYOB AE/AO to an address that is shared by another person or corporation, then separate tasks will be generated in the Changes from AE/Changes from AO module for each other person or corporation that shares the address.
When you then generate an ASIC form from one of the shared change of address tasks, all other people or corporations affected by the change will be included in the form. The task that you used as the basis for the form, and all related tasks will then be deleted from the Changes from AE/Changes from AO module.

To remove the task from the change list

If the name or address change entered in MYOB AE/AO is a database correction only, and no change notification to ASIC is required. To delete the task:

  1. Select the person or corporation in the Changes from AE/Changes from AO list.

  2. Select the menu Delete task.
