Allocating unallocated receipts to a bill

Practice Manager only

In some cases, clients may pay in advance, which leaves an unallocated amount on their Debtors Ledger and shows as Unallocated Cash entries on debtor reports.

Once the bill has been posted, the unallocated receipt entry can be allocated against the relevant bill.

If the receipt is to be allocated to more than one bill, you will need to repeat the procedure for each bill.

To allocate an unallocated receipt

  1. Access the Debtors Ledger in Ledger mode for the client.

  2. See Accessing the debtors ledger.
  3. Click on the unallocated receipt.

  4. Press and hold [Ctrl] and click on the bill you want to allocate the receipt against.

  5. Click Allocate.

The receipt is allocated to the bill.
