Before reporting payroll and super information to the ATO, you need to check that your company information and employee details meet ATO requirements. To do this, you can check your details in MYOB Essentials and view a list of errors that need fixing.

 

Check your payroll details
  1. From the Payroll menu, choose Payroll Reporting.
  2. Click Check payroll details. The Check Payroll Details window appears listing the results.
    From this list you'll see what items you need to fix before you can connect to the ATO and start reporting using Single Touch Payroll.
Fix errors (if you have any)

Use the information in the results list as a guide to what items you need to fix.

Where to updateDo this...
Business details
  1. Click Edit business details. The Business details page appears in a new browser tab.
  2. Edit the relevant field.
  3. Click Save.
  4. Close the browser window, then click Check payroll details again.

Employee Information

Some employee information is required for Single Touch Payroll

  1. Click each employee listed, to edit their information.
  2. Click Save.
  3. From the Payroll menu, choose Payroll Reporting.
  4. Click Check payroll details again.
  5. Repeat for all employees.
Pay items

Assign ATO reporting categories for Single Touch Payroll to indicate what information to report to the ATO.

  1. Click View all pay items. The Pay items page appears in a new browser tab.
  2. Click the ellipses button ( ... ) for the pay item and choose Edit.
  3. From the ATO reporting category list, choose the appropriate category.
  4. Click Save.
  5. Repeat for all pay items.
