If you work with multiple currencies, you can set the exchange rates on the Currency List window. These are the rates that'll be used in foreign currency transactions, but you can override a rate <link to new topic> when recording a transaction.

Need help calculating a currency value or exchange rate? Try the Currency Calculator <link to new topic>.

You only need to enter exchange rates for the currencies you use - here's how:

To enter exchange rates
  1. Go to the Lists menu and choose Currencies. The Currency List window opens. If this option isn't available, make sure you've activated the multi-currency preference.
  2. Use the Search field to find the currency. You can search by currency code or name.
  3. Enter the currency’s Exchange Rate. The rate represents the foreign value for $1 of local currency, e.g. 1 AUD = entered exchange rate.

  4. Press TAB or click out of the Exchange Rate field.
  5. Repeat to enter exchange rates for the other currencies you use.
  6. Click OK.
