Error: "Warning: could not obtain write access to the ledger" when configuring an AccountRight ledger

In MYOB Client Accounting, when you use the Windows 8 or Server 2012 operating system, you may experience the error "Warning: could not obtain write access to the ledger. Some Client Accounting functions will not be supported. Do you want to continue?" when configuring an AccountRight ledger into Client Accounting.

This error occurs when you do not have access to the folder where the AccountRight file is located.

To be able to configure this file, close MYOB, then right-click on the MYOB AE/AO icon in the Start menu or on your Desktop and select Run as Administrator. This provides access to the location and the error will no longer occur when configuring an AccountRight ledger into Client Accounting.
