Allocating work using the Employee Planner

Accountants Enterprise with Practice Manager only

Managers can use the Employee Planner to allocate work to employees capable of completing the work associated with a task. It is used as a tool to manage the capacity of resources in the team.

The work allocated is displayed on the employee’s own Employee Planner, enabling them to manage their workload.

To allocate work using the Employee Planner
  1. Find and open the assignment. See Finding and opening assignments. The Assignment Details page opens.

  2. Click the Schedule tab.

  3. Select the Schedule from the drop-down.

  4. Click Employee planner on the Tasks bar. The Employee Planner opens with the Stage Details window of the schedule displaying in a separate window for reference.

    The Employee Planner opens in the default allocation mode. This mode shows only those employees with existing allocations against a stage.

  5. Click the View All Allocated Employees checkbox to see all existing employees allocated to the stage.

  6. Click Add employee on the Tasks bar if the employee you want to allocate the task is not listed. You can also right-click the page and select Add Employee. The Find Employees window opens.

  7. Find and open the employee you want to allocate work to. See Finding and opening employee records. The employee’s name is displayed in the Employee Planner.

  8. Drag a task from the Stage Details to the date required on the Employee Planner.

    Clicking the hyperlinked text opens the link. Do not try to drag text that is hyperlinked.

  9. Double-click the allocation, or click Edit Allocation on the Tasks bar. The Edit Allocation window opens.

  10. Modify the Start date.

  11. Allocate the Number of hours to the allocation.

  12. Click OK.

  13. Click Refresh on the Tasks bar. The allocation colours are refreshed.

  14. Close the window.
