Error: "There has been a corruption in your data file"

This message occurs when the region and language settings on your computer are not set to New Zealand. To fix this error, you'll need to change this setting in Windows. The solution depends on which version of Windows you are using.

 

Windows 8
  1. Close all programs.
  2. Right-click your screen's bottom-left corner and choose Control Panel. The Control Panel window appears.
  3. At the View by field (at the top of the window), choose Small icons.
  4. Click Region. The Region window appears.
  5. Click the Formats tab.
  6. Select English (New Zealand) from the dropdown list. This option affects how some programs format numbers, currencies, dates and times.

  7. Click the Administrative tab.
  8. Click Change system locale.
  9. Select English (New Zealand) from the dropdown list. This setting controls the language used when displaying text in programs used.
  10. Click OK to save the changes.
  11. Restart your computer for the changes to take effect.
Windows 7
  1. Close all programs.
  2. Click the Windows Start button in the bottom left corner of the screen, choose Control Panel.

  4. Click Regional and Language Options.
  5. Click the Regional Options tab.
  6. Select English (New Zealand) from the dropdown list as shown below. This option affects how some programs format numbers, currencies, dates and times.

  7. Click the Advanced tab.
  8. Select English (New Zealand) from the dropdown list. This system setting enables non-Unicode programs to display menus and dialogs in their native language.
  9. Click OK to save the changes.
  10. Restart your computer for these changes to take effect.
