To add an account
- Open the cashbook for the relevant business.
- Go to Settings> Account List.
- Locate the right account-type (Income, Liability, Assets, etc.) and click the Add new account ( ) button.
A form appears. - Enter the account details.
- Enter an Account number. In MYOB Essentials Cashbook, you can enter any number (or even letters) to denote an account.
- Enter an Account name.
- Choose the GST type for the account.
- Enter an opening Balance, if any.
- If you are adding an Asset account, you can also specify if the account is a Banking account by selecting the checkbox. You should do this for any bank accounts that will have bank feeds set up.
- If you are adding a Liability account, you can also specify if the account is a Credit account by selecting the checkbox.
- Press ENTER when you are done to add the account. The account now appears in the list.
To edit an account
- Open the cashbook for the relevant business.
- Go to Settings> Account List.
- Locate the account for which you want to enter a balance, and click on it. The account fields now become editable.
- Make the necessary changes and press ENTER.
To delete an account
You can’t delete system accounts, accounts that have been used in transactions, or accounts for which you’ve imported bank statements.
- Open the cashbook for the relevant business.
- Go to Settings> Account List.
- Locate the account you want to delete, and click on it.
- Click Remove.
The account is removed.
