  • Importing data from a MYE file

If you have a .MYE file from another software, such as MYOB AccountRight or MYOB Accountants Office, you can import it into MYOB Essentials Cashbook. The accounts and the entries from that file will be imported. Before you can complete the import, you will need to look at each account in the file, and decide whether it should be imported as a new account, or merged with an existing one.

To import a .MYE file

  1. Open the cashbook for the relevant business.
  2. Go to Settings> Import data.The Import data page appears, showing the details of any previous files you've imported.
  3. Click the Select file button, and, in the window that appears, locate the .mye file.
    The Import data, Step 2 page appears. This page shows the list of all the accounts in the file you're going to import.
  4. For each account listed on this page, you will need to decide whether it should be imported as a new account, or merged with an existing one.
    1. To add an account as a new account, select the account type and choose the Tax type to be applied.
    2. To merge the account with an existing one, select the relevant account in the Merge with existing account field.
  5. When you are done, click the Save accounts and continue button at the end of the page.
    The Import data, Step 3 page appears.
  6. Review the accounts that you matched in the previous page, and when you're done click Import. 
    The accounts and entries will be imported into your cashbook.
