In order for USB docket printers to work with RetailHospitality, they first need to be installed and operating in RetailManager. When installing the USB docket printer, the driver needs to emulate a COM port in windows. RetailManager will only communicate with devices installed as a COM port or LPT port. To check if the USB driver has emulated a COM port correctly: In Windows right-click the My Computer icon and choose Manage. In the list on the left, click Device Manager. Another list should display in the right panel with all the devices. Double-click the Ports directory. As shown in the following examples, if it has installed correctly it should display the device with a corresponding COM port.
