Ledger tab The Ledger tab shows you the closing balances for each account for the last financial period. The balances on the Ledger tab are refreshed the first time you access the tab after opening the client and whenever Refresh Account Balances is selected.
From the Ledger tab you can: Edit Configuration Details — allows you to edit the configuration settings required to connect to your client’s financial data. Refresh Account Balances — retrieves the latest account balances from the client’s data file. Launch Ledger — enables you to open your Ledger application; where a ledger can be AccountRight, MAS, Accounts, AO Classic or Essentials - Accounting or Cashbook. You can make changes to the client’s general ledger whilst accessing their information in Client Accounting. Perform Opening Review — compares the account balances in the client’s AccountRight ledger with the corresponding account balances in your current general ledger product. It also allows you to adjust the AccountRight balances where necessary. When the balances have been adjusted, you can start using the AccountRight file as your general ledger for the client. Modify Prior Year Balances — this allows you to adjust the prior year balances that are stored within the client’s AccountRight ledger.
The financial data source records the location of the client’s company file on your system. The client’s general ledger data is imported from this file. When the client sends through a new company file, it is this file on your system that must be updated and replaced. A warning message is displayed on the Client Accounting tab > Ledger tab if a financial data source is not configured for the client. Use the Configure a financial data source link to configure a particular company file as a client's financial data source. |
